WHERE WE BEGAN
This dining room was already one of the hardest-working spaces in the home. Used daily for homework, creativity, and family life, it needed thoughtful storage and greater functionality without sacrificing its beauty.
WHAT WASN'T WORKING

THE VISION
Planned Updates

Create a semi-custom built-in using IKEA Havsta components, giving each child a dedicated “locker” while adding beautiful, integrated storage.

Add box molding beneath the chair rail to balance the room’s architecture and enhance its classic character.

Create a family gallery wall to celebrate the people who use the space every day.

Introduce a properly scaled, washable rug to soften the room and support everyday family life.

Add custom box valances to frame the windows with warmth while remaining practical for dust allergies.
